Welcome Home Celebration Attire
Ladies: From dressy casual to cocktail.
Fella's: Just show up!
We will have a photographer there doing portraits for each soldier, so keep this in mind when picking out your wardrobe. Many of the girls want an excuse to dress up, so they are wearing cocktail dresses, while others are wearing slacks. The only way we'll turn you away at the door is if you are naked.

Veteran's Day Parade
Warriors at Home had a great day today! We started out walking in the Veteran's Day Parade. It was frrrrrrreezing cold, but we were very proud to represent our troops!

After the parade and a nice lunch, we went to the Apple Glen Walmart where we had a "fill-the-boot" drive to raise funds for the Welcome Home. We received $352.42 in donations in those stinky old combat boots in just over 2 hours! We We also handed out fliers for our upcoming Chik-Fil-A and Scrapbook Extravaganza Fundraisers.

Charity Stockings
Saturday, December 6, 6:30PM
Phone:
(260) 494-2393
We would like to invite you and your guests to our fifth annual holiday charity stocking party on Saturday, December 6, 2008. For those who haven't attended in the past, we provide all the party food, drinks, blackmail photos, and material to sew a hand-made stocking. (Yes, grown men can sew!!) You provide the manpower to create a stocking, and the toys for stuffing the stocking. Many small gifts for a child 6-10 yrs. are great. For example, baseball cards, matchbox cars, Barbie dolls, barrettes, playing cards, school supplies, just to name a few. We don't want to forget the active duty military this year, so also bring some items to make a second stocking for a local person serving oversees. For example dried fruits/nuts, gum, hard candy, wet wipes, socks, stationery w/ envelopes, CD's, playing cards, dice, dominoes, phone cards, sodoku books, etc. We will donate all the finished children's stockings to locals in need.
We will donate all the finished military stockings to "Warriors at Home" and "Blue Star Mothers" groups supporting the locally deployed soldiers of Fort Wayne. The partying will begin around 6pm, and the sewing should commence sometime thereafter. The party will last as long as your fingers do! This is a great time to get together before the holidays, and to provide a worthwhile donation to a local charity and help support our armed forces overseas. Feel free to bring your children to participate. If you are unable to attend, but are interested in donating please RSVP and Jason will respond to make arrangements. Our home is located in a development in Roanoke.
